About Dalek Decimus
Dalek Decimus is a full-size “Movie Dalek”, originally built in 2017, and inspired by the Black Dalek Supreme from the 1965 film Dr. Who and the Daleks, starring the late Peter Cushing of Hammer Horror fame. Built with a focus on accuracy and presence, it captures the distinctive look and imposing style of the classic cinematic Daleks.
Constructed primarily from fibreglass, wood, metal, and aluminium, Dalek Decimus is both durable and highly detailed. It is powered by a Rascal mobility chair, allowing for smooth and reliable movement at events and appearances. The build also incorporates a Martmod Dalek voice modulator, giving it the unmistakable and terrifying Dalek voice that fans instantly recognise.
Since its creation, Dalek Decimus has appeared at comic cons, Doctor Who conventions, charity events, and fan film projects. Whether on display or interacting with the public, it brings a striking and authentic piece of sci-fi history to audiences and fans alike.

History
That sparked an interest, but the real turning point came one Christmas when I asked for something Doctor Who-related. Instead of the television series, my late parents bought me the Peter Cushing film Dr. Who and the Daleks / Dalek Invasion of Earth 2150 A.D.. It turned out to be the perfect introduction.
From there, a lasting love of the films, the television series, and Dalek design grew. By the time Dalek Decimus was built in 2017, the aim was to create something accurate, imposing, and memorable — a Dalek that could do justice to the screen versions while also bringing excitement to events, conventions, filming, and charity appearances.
